For this Fix I told my stylist I needed some pieces for a business trip, which is never any fun because I hate pretending to be a grown up. But I was headed to the Sunshine State to meet with a very big client that I wanted to impress. I asked for sharp, professional, and modest pieces in this Fix.

Wait. What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is an online personal stylist service tailored to fit your taste, your budget, and your schedule. You can opt to receive Fixes automatically every few weeks, every few months, or on demand. You fill out a detailed questionnaire with things like your height, weight, and body shape, along with your style preferences. Stitch Fix carries a variety of price points (which you can pre-set during the questionnaire phase). They carry private label and recently started carrying premium brand items as well. Do you prefer dresses or pants? Are you feminine and flirty, classic, or edgy?
Your personal stylist will curate 5 pieces for you to try on in the comfort of your own home. You only keep what you like and return the rest. Shipping is free both ways and they even provide prepaid packaging. Just toss whatever you don’t want keep into the package, seal it up, and leave it for your postal carrier. The best part is if you keep all 5 pieces, you will get a 25% discount! And they only charges a $20 styling fee which is applied to anything you purchase.

I have no idea why I blacked out my name, when all you have to do is click on the About Me section and learn my name. 🙄

I used to wear nothing but black and brown. So boring, but so easy to wear. I don’t have much fashion sense so it was a no-brainer to throw on black or brown and be done with it. In an effort to step outside my comfort zone, I started wearing gray. I know. Wild.

The gray is true-to-color and the blouse is made well. It’s fully lined with a button closure in the back. I typically prefer a more of a charcoal blue-gray against my skin coloring, so this went back.

I have at least 8 pairs of business-wear slacks. For someone who works from home and only visits clients face-to-face a handful of times a year, that’s pretty excessive. But my petite stature compels me to keep searching for the perfect fit. Spoiler alert. It doesn’t exist.
The length on these Liverpool bootcut pants is just about perfect for my 5′ 1″ frame. They’re comfortable with the right amount of stretch and I love the color. But the hip area creates this weird fold in the crotch. Returned.
FYI, there really isn’t a better word for crotch. 😏

I love the color of this burgundy silk blouse by Daniel Rainn. The rich wine hue pairs beautifully with the Liverpool pants. Even the $88 price tag is reasonable for a silk blouse. It has pleats at the shoulder and elasticized wrists, so you don’t have to fumble around with clumsy buttons.

I’ve been searching for a silk blouse, but sadly, my short little arms didn’t want to cooperate, and I didn’t love the blouse enough to shell out the cash for tailoring the sleeves. Returned.
Note to my 18-year old self in the late 80’s: “Step away from the baby oil and DIY aluminum foil sun reflector. You’ll thank me later when you won’t have to PS the sun damage off your neckline. You’re welcome. ~ Bikini Babe”

I asked my stylist to send a blazer for this Fix and I received this unstructured, casual piece from Skies are Blue with fold-up sleeves. I like the patterned gray and soft knit fabric. I’ve been wanting to add a casual blazer to my wardrobe, but since I really needed something more structured for my business trip, this went back.

I think my favorite item from this Fix is the Sole Society handbag. Every girl needs a neutral handbag in her wardrobe! I love the modern silhouette and it’s just the right size. The color depicted in the image is exactly the color and hue I was looking for, but in real life it’s not as bright as I’d hoped. Since I don’t want to settle on such an important wardrobe staple, this goes back and the search continues.
