Stitch Fix Review #23
I often forget there’s no commitment with Stitch Fix. I can schedule a Fix based on my needs, whether I need an outfit for an event, or if I simply want to “window shop”. I can cancel a scheduled Fix before they begin styling it if I decide I no longer need it. I can even exchange items that I love, but don’t fit.
Most of my recent Fixes have been for special events (mostly business) and this month I found myself free to choose some fun items with no style restrictions. I decided not to ask for anything specific from my stylist, nor did I ask for my preferred stylist. I wanted to see what they would select for me, based on my history and previous purchase.
But First! What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is an online personal stylist service tailored to fit your taste, your budget, and your schedule. You can opt to receive Fixes automatically every few weeks, every few months, or on demand. You fill out a detailed questionnaire with things like your height, weight, and body shape, along with your style preferences. Stitch Fix carries a variety of price points (which you can pre-set during the questionnaire phase). They carry private label and recently started carrying premium brand items as well. Do you prefer dresses or pants? Are you feminine and flirty, classic, or edgy?

Your personal stylist will curate 5 pieces for you to try on in the comfort of your own home. You only keep what you like and return the rest. Shipping is free both ways and they even provide prepaid packaging. Just toss whatever you don’t want keep into the package, seal it up, and leave it for your postal carrier. The best part is if you keep all 5 pieces, you will get a 25% discount! And they only charges a $20 styling fee which is applied to anything you purchase.

What is Your Favorite Color?
I don’t know about you, but my favorite colors tend to also be the colors that look best on my skin tone. I love deep dark blues, saturated earthy greens, rich wines, and bold magentas. I’ve never really liked pastels, and coincidentally, they aren’t very flattering on my skin tone.

There are so many shades and hues of green, but this gorgeous CeCe’s Sportswear Flutter Sleeve Blouse is probably my favorite shade. The deep, dark evergreen is stunning no matter the season. I love the ruffled sleeves and the tiny little leaf pattern. It’s the perfect camouflage for my extra healthy upper arms. And by healthy, I don’t mean kale. 🙄

Every woman should have some staple pieces in her closet and a silk blouse probably tops the list of “must haves”. It’s best to stick to classic or neutral colors when investing in your staples, especially if it’s a big ticket item like a silk blouse. I love this olive green silk button down and although I keep yearning for a silk staple, this went back. It fit well and goes with virtually everything, but I fee like if I’m going to spend my money on a silk piece, I want it to be something luxuriously gorgeous. No offense olive green. I still love like a soft, well-worn tee-shirt.

Not to brag, but me and Red get along really well. Not everyone can wear a bold color like Red and get away with it. My stylist duly noted my preference for v-neck blouses and saturated hues, but sort of missed the mark in style. While this would have been spectacular for my Cuba trip last year, this isn’t something I’d put into regular rotation. This just made me look like a female version of the 🧛 Vampire Lestat.

I love everything about this blouse! It’s difficult to tell, but it’s a deep, dark forest green, almost so dark it looks black. It has pops of color with the pink, yellow, and orange flowers, delicately accented with gold and sage leaves. It’s breezy and comfortable, with a versatile tie neckline. This will pair easily with denim, espadrilles, and a straw handbag for a stylish bo-ho look!

Another beautiful silk blouse, this one in a light coral pink. It’s very sheer with a ruffled tie-neckline and varying shades of coral-pink flowers and leaves.
Ugh. Who am I kidding. I hate pink.

Y’all, that’s it for Fix #23. Sorry there were no images of me actually modeling the pieces. We are in the process of moving and I simply couldn’t find a space to photograph that wasn’t cluttered with boxes and junk!
If you noticed, there is no styling fee on my receipt. That’s because for some random reason, Stitch Fix offered me a free “Style Pass” trial for 12 months. Not sure why, but you’re damn right I clicked on “Hell yes, I’ll take it!”
Coming up soon… Stitch Fix #24.
